Kiota Camp Serengeti

Kiota is a beautiful, great-value camp set in the central Serengeti, offering fantastic year-round game viewing, particularly for big cat enthusiasts.

The Camp itself is relatively simple yet well executed, offering an authentic safari experience. Sleeping under canvas in the middle of the Serengeti, surrounded by wildlife, is what life at Kioto Camp is all about.

Kiota Camp Serengeti

A permanent tented camp situated in the heart of the central Serengeti. With the valley in view, the camp’s views are beautiful.

Its ideal position offers year-round game viewing, especially in the Seronera Valley, famous for healthy populations of big cats, particularly lions and cheetahs.

The Great Wildebeest Migration passes through twice a year, too, allowing you to fall asleep to the sound of thousands of wildebeest calling around April/May and again in November.

The Camp comprises 10 ensuite tents, each with a private shaded verandah, flush toilets, and a safari-style bucket shower.

There is ample space to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings during the day. In between game drives.

If an all-day safari is more your style, it is also available, with breakfast and picnic lunches included. All you have to do is ask!

There is a large dining tent and a fire pit for evening campfires, as well as a separate lounge area with a bar and a well-stocked library. Wi-Fi is available in the lounge area but not in the rooms, so you can step away from your emails and truly immerse yourself in nature.

There is plenty to keep you busy here, with game drives in open vehicles to maximize wildlife viewings, options for having bush dinners and bush breakfasts, a romantic private dinner under the stars, and campfires in the evening.

Kiota is a great Camp for those seeking an authentic safari experience at a reasonable price, and it pairs well with its sister, Chaka Mobile Camp, which moves from the Ndutu Plains in the South to the Kogatende region in the north of the Serengeti with the Great Migration.

Whilst Kiota combines brilliantly with Chaka during certain times of the year, a typical Northern Itinerary would see you spend an overnight in Arusha at Rivertrees before heading to Ngorongoro Farm House or Plantation Lodge.

Spending a couple of days in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area will allow you to explore Lake Manyara on your way there before spending a day on the Crater floor.

Here, you will experience the unique ecosystem of the Ngorongoro Crater, home to Africa’s large mammals and much more.

Finishing off your safari holiday with a trip to the island of Zanzibar is a must. With Tanzania’s extensive domestic flight network, reaching the Indian Ocean Island is easy.

A fantastic option on the island is Pongwe Beach Hotel, which is excellent value for money.

Apart from ending the trip by the beach, Zanzibar also allows you to spend a night or two in the cultural city of Stone Town.

The Park Hyatt is the hotel of choice here. It is beautifully modern and luxurious, and in the best location to enjoy some coastal scenery and city life.

Prices start from $ 645 per person
