Another lovely Asilia safari camp, it is almost identical to Olakira in style.
The difference with Dunia is that it is centrally located in the Serengeti, making it ideal for game viewing year-round.
They have also found a quiet corner where they can enjoy the landscapes and views without the hustle and bustle of other vehicles standard in this area of the Serengeti.
Dunia Camp Asilia – A guide
Dunia Camp is a permanent tented camp in the Serengeti National Park.
It is located between the popular Moru Kopjes and Seronera, in an area that offers excellent year-round safari viewing, including all the Big 5.
The only downside to this area is that it can attract a high number of tourists, but Dunia, one of the first camps in this area, has carved out a very secluded corner where guests can sit back and enjoy the scenery as if they are the only ones there!
The location was chosen because the valley where it sits is home to some of the best resident games in the Serengeti ecosystem.
Similar in style to Olakira Camp, Dunia Camp comprises eight comfortable, luxurious tents and two mess tents serving as the restaurant and main guest area.
Unlike Olakira, which operates year-round, Dunia is a permanent camp, offering the luxuries that some mobile camps cannot.
The tents, all raised on wooden decks, are exceptionally comfortable with fully operational en-suite bathrooms.
Each tent has its own private deck with a comfortable sofa, making the middle of the day a perfect time to relax.
Don’t forget to keep a lookout, though, the migrating wildebeest are often seen heading past camp from March-June and in November.
The food is wonderfully varied, from buffet-style lunches to three-course dinners. A picnic lunch is also available for those who want to spend the entire day on safari.
The camp usually has its ‘bush television’ on in the evenings: a roaring campfire, stories of the Serengeti, and drinks after a day of exciting game drives.
Serengeti Safari holidaymakers often visit the Seronera safari region, and Dunia is one of the finest camps in the area.
The camp is also a favorite among honeymooners seeking serious luxury.
Dunia is one of the best safari camps in this area, still maintaining an authentic traditional safari camp feel. Its all-women team is a first in Tanzania, and it is an absolute pleasure to visit.
You can be sure you will be welcomed with open arms and genuine smiles; you will feel part of the family as soon as you arrive.
Asilia delivers on all fronts, from excellent guiding to brilliant hospitality and service. Dunia is one of Seronera’s best camps and offers superb game viewing year-round.
Combining Dunia with the Highlands by the Ngorongoro Crater and one of their mobile camps, like Ubuntu or Kimondo, in the Kogatende or Ndutu regions of the Serengeti would undoubtedly make for an unforgettable holiday.
After a Serengeti safari, nothing beats heading to the island of Zanzibar for some rest. Zuri Zanzibar or Xanadu makes for the perfect destination to do just that.
Zuri has the best beach on the island, whilst Xanadu’s ultra-luxurious villas are perfect for a honeymoon.
If you are feeling adventurous, then Fanjove Private Island is also an excellent destination to round off your trip.
