Sunset Mountain Lodge is one of the best Lodges in Ruaha and is nestled in the Idelemle Mountains, only 16 km away. away from the park border, boasts of its tranquillity and hospitality.
The chalets offer incredible views of a breathtaking landscape, making the sunsets especially striking.
Outside the park, the lodge can also offer additional unique visitor attractions, such as a visit to the local Makonde carving center, the snake park, or a community visit. Walks may also be conducted in and around the campgrounds.
It is amazing to think that in just 2 hours of flight or 6 hours of traveling, you can escape the hectic urban melee of Dar-es-salaam and be in the heart of one of the world’s great wildernesses.
The clamor of car engines is replaced by the grunting of hippos, the chatter of playful vervet monkeys, and the shrill keening of eagles.
The accommodation comprises eleven self-contained chalets overlooking a vast tropical lawn of indigenous trees to the horizon, with magnificent sunset views and early-morning sightings of lions and wild dogs.
With their grace, intelligence, and majesty, herds of elephants can be seen around the lodge grounds, mingling with giraffes, hyenas, and various antelope species such as impalas, elands, and greater lesser kudu.
