Tembo House Hotel
The Tembo House Hotel & Apartments features an array of antique furniture and ornaments from around the World.
Sleep on unique Swahili beds and enjoy the wood-carved furniture, which is rarely seen in many countries.
Most of the rooms feature a balcony with sea or pool views. The hotel’s Bahari Restaurant offers both local and international cuisine.
All the rooms in the new wing face the Sea/Pool view balcony, and the old wing faces the garden/sea view balcony.
Accommodation
The hotel has 37 rooms of varying sizes and comfort. All rooms are en suite, and most have balconies overlooking either the beach or the hotel’s courtyard pool.
The hotel is decorated and furnished in a Swahili style with antique furniture and ornaments.
This gives it a refreshing degree of character, but it does not mean that some beds are either taller or shorter than the Western standard.
Rooms are well-equipped by Tanzanian standards, each with air conditioning, a fridge, Satellite television, and a telephone.
Some are pretty small, though it may be possible to organize a room change during less busy periods. The hotel also offers an internet café, Wi-Fi access, and, for an extra charge, a laundry service.

The restaurant
The Bahari Restaurant is located on the seafront and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Should you wish, a private, intimate supper can be arranged on our rooftop terrace for you to enjoy our international cuisine while you watch the sunset over Zanzibar.
