Zawadi Serengeti Camp

Zawadi, or “gift” in Swahili, is a family-run safari camp with a mission to ‘gift’ our guests with a truly life-enhancing experience of the Serengeti landscape and its inhabitants.

Where is Zawadi Camp Serengeti Located? 

The camp is centrally positioned in the Kemarishe Hills, 20km north of Seronera, Zawadi Camp is just a few minutes by 4×4 from the famed animal migration paths of the area, and only two kilometers away from the Orangi River.

Our mission is to provide our guests with ultimate relaxation, peace of mind, and an authentic wildlife experience in the Serengeti.

Mindful of the area’s fragile ecosystem and focused on cultural preservation and environmental respect, Zawadi Camp is designed to leave no trace behind once removed.

We take our environmental and social responsibility seriously. As a result, we use the latest renewable energy technology, employ and train local people, and donate part of our camp’s profits towards a local shelter project for homeless and orphaned children.

Our multilingual Spanish and Tanzanian management team, and our combined warmth, hospitality, and culture are proudly complemented by extensive local knowledge and respect for the local environment, its wildlife, and its inhabitants such as the Maasai.

As well as the perfect accommodation, through our partners we can offer different package experiences including transfer and game drives.

Zawadi Camps Tents

With just six guest tents, Zawadi Camp offers a personalized and tailored experience that ensures our guests can bask in the warm African sun, drink in the stunning landscape, and celebrate the native, often majestic, and always captivating wildlife of the Serengeti.

Our tents are exclusively designed to provide a restful and luxurious experience enhanced only by the tantalizing and unique window they offer into the natural world.

Adventurers and explorers of all ages and experiences will be delighted as the perfect symphony of wide-open skies, stunning sunsets, and rousing sunrises accompany every moment of their visit.

Our tents are equipped as follows:

Size: 32m2

Beds: one super king-size bed (1.8m x 2m). One additional single bed is available per tent (Max capacity 3)

Private bathroom with shower with hot and cold water

LED lighting (solar-powered with batteries)

USB charging (solar-powered with batteries)

Locally sourced furniture

Your booking will include a full board: breakfast, lunch, and dinner (excluding drinks).

Please note that our accommodation fees do not include any Park fees which are typically $130 per person per night and must be paid directly to the park administrator (TANAPA) at the park gates.

Zawadi Mess Tents

Savour our delicious food and drinks as you relish the most beautiful African sunsets or relax with a drink after a stimulating safari experience.

Our mess tent is equipped with a top-quality restaurant and bar where our dedicated team will be able to help you at any time, as well as a relaxing lounge with stunning views of the Serengeti National Park. Our mess tent also includes WIFI connectivity and device charging facilities.

Every second of your experience is important to us, and the culinary aspect is a crucial part of it. Our tented restaurant and bar is where you can enjoy our chef’s delicious fusion of local, traditional, and international cuisine complemented by a variety of drinks and local beverages.

Start your day with our fabulous continental breakfast, enjoy a healthy lunch in the shade, or treat yourself to an enchanting candle/fire-lit dinner.

Wind up your day with a drink by the outdoor fire pit, meet new friends, and watch the sun slowly sink behind the horizon as the vast African sky displays more vibrant colors and hues than you ever thought possible!

We also have our regular BBQ dinner – try our house salad, French fries, and spiced or plain chicken and beef. For our vegetarian and vegan guests we have a delicious vegetable BBQ but please let us know in advance!

All our packages include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Takeaway and food special requirements can be arranged upon request.

Distance from Seronera Airstrip is 28km (approx. 40 minutes driving time)

Distance from Arusha, the nearest national airport, is 330km (approx. 6hrs driving time)

Distance from Kilimanjaro, the nearest international airport, is 380km (approx. 7.5hrs driving time)
