Tarangire Safari Lodge is family-owned and managed. The lodge is well known for its location and panoramic views and caters to wildlife enthusiasts and those seeking rest in one of Tanzania’s most popular national parks.

Tents

The quintessential safari tents, with thatched roofs and large, mesh-screened windows, offer an ideal opportunity to connect with the sights and sounds of nature.

Each tent has a comfortable verandah, ideal for bird and game viewing or reading your favorite book after a dusty safari.

Choose from twin, double, or triple bungalows, each equipped with en-suite bathrooms with solar-heated showers, ample cupboard space for your gear, and a cultural touch of local textiles.

Bungalow

The five circular bungalows, built in a style similar to the Maasai, offer more spacious options for family and triple accommodation.

These airy rooms are located near a large watering hole, allowing you to watch wildlife from your shaded verandah.

The bungalows are set away from the main lodge, providing privacy, and all are equipped with large en-suite bathrooms with solar-heated showers and comfortable bedding made from local textiles.

Dining

The open-air dining room provides a distinctive setting for our international home-style cuisine.

Our signature buffets offer fresh fruits and vegetables, and a wide variety of flavourful dishes sure to satisfy every palate.

Requests are welcome for dinner under the stars on our terrace, where you may choose from a range of local wines and enjoy dinner by candlelight.

Warm, friendly staff members are ready to assist and cater to all our guests’ needs and dietary requirements.

Lounge and Bar

Relax, put your feet up, and enjoy a refreshing drink in our bar and lounge.

Fresh Tanzanian coffee and tea are complimentary from 5:45 AM to help you start your day before heading on safari.

Join us on the terrace at 6 pm for daily ‘sundowners’, complimentary savories, and the unparalleled African sunset.

Free Wi-Fi is available in this area, but our location in the bush doesn’t support a high-speed connection, so we kindly recommend enjoying our breathtaking views rather than browsing the Internet.

Swimming Pool

Set among the shade of acacia trees, the inviting swimming pool provides an excellent location for a poolside cocktail or an afternoon dip.

Changing rooms are nearby, and there is also a shallow splash pool for children to enjoy safely.

Baobab Boutique

Whether you’re looking for a gift to take home to a loved one or a memento for yourself, The Baobab Boutique offers a variety of handmade crafts by Tanzanian artisans and unique specialty items. There are gifts for all ages, many of which support local women and craftsmen throughout Tanzania.

Availability of Power

Power for the rooms is provided from 6 am to 10 am and from 6 pm to 11 pm. Recharging facilities are available during this time, and the “charging station” is found at our main bar.

With power off at 11 pm, we kindly request that guests ensure any devices they need overnight are battery-powered.

Please note that a surcharge applies if electricity is required for the entire night.
