Marangu Route Facilities

There are no hotels or lodges on the mountain. Climbers to the Marangu route (Kilimanjaro) sleep in huts.<\/p>\n

Accommodation is based on shared rooms with double-decker beds. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner will be served in mess rooms. available in every camp in Marangu<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All rooms are installed with a solar system but the power may not be enough for charging your cell phones. Marangu has flash toilets except at the base camp.<\/p>\n

Other Routes Facilities<\/h2>\n

Climbers through other routes<\/a> use tents. Porters are always fast, they get to the camp earlier and set up your tents. Every group has camping managers who make sure all tents are well-pitched.<\/p>\n

We use new quality mountain tents for sleeping. Every tent is shared by two (2) clients, we also carry quality mercy tents, kitchen tents, and crew tents.<\/p>\n

Toilets are available at all camps in the mountains. In case you don\u2019t want to use public toilets, you can request a private toilet from us.<\/p>\n

Public Toilets on Kilimanjaro<\/h3>\n

Any trekkers will be asking themselves about toilet facilities up on the mountain, but we realize that not everyone is comfortable asking us! So, as we at Blessing Safaris like to be upfront and honest about this delicate subject, here\u2019s the true situation.<\/p>\n

The standard toilet facility on Kilimanjaro is the public \u2018long-drop\u2019 toilet. You will find these at all the campsites along the route, but please note that they are not available at picnic lunch stops.<\/p>\n

To describe them accurately, these consist of a simple wooden hut constructed over a deep hole in the ground.<\/p>\n

There really is not much more to them than that. You have to sit or squat. It is fair to say that as these are public toilets, they get a lot of use and therefore can become quite dirty<\/p>\n

Private Toilets on Kilimanjaro<\/h3>\n

At Blessing Safaris<\/a>, we offer an alternative, the private mobile toilet. As the name suggests, this has two important \u2013 and very welcome \u2013 differences from the long-drop public facility.<\/p>\n

First, they are reserved for use by your group and nobody else. Secondly, they are carried between camps by your team of porters and are cleaned by them daily. (Note that they are available only at the camps, not during the day\u2019s trekking or at lunchtime.)<\/p>\n

These are proper chemical toilets, equipped with a seat, set up in a purpose-designed tent for your privacy, and we at Blessing Safaris provide one on every climb at an additional cost of $200 per Toilet.<\/p>\n
