Mikumi National Park Safaris

Where the Tanzanian bush stretches endlessly and lions roam freely. Discover Africa's most accessible national park, just four hours from Dar es Salaam.

About Mikumi National Park

Mikumi National Park is Tanzania's fourth-largest national park, sitting on the floor of the vast Mkata Flood Plain — a landscape so open and game-rich it is often called the "little Serengeti." Unlike the famous parks of the north, Mikumi remains refreshingly uncrowded and genuinely wild.

The park borders the Selous Game Reserve, creating one of Africa's largest wildlife ecosystems. Lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, and zebras wander freely across the golden floodplains, while the Mkata River draws a constant parade of species to its pools.

Mikumi's location along the TANZAM Highway also makes it one of the most accessible parks on the continent — no internal flights needed.

Everything You Need to Know about Mikumi National Park Safaris

We are committed to ensuring you experience the luxury of genuinely memorable travel. On every trip, we aim to create a ‘charmed space’ within which you can relax, absorb fresh insights, be stimulated and charmed by new encounters - and have fun!

Whether traveling alone or with friends, Blessing Safaris guests often mention how particularly agreeable they find their traveling companions. Our groups are deliberately small, comprising 2 to 7 guests, especially for the safari.

Our team carefully researched and focused on trips that attract people with similar interests and naturally get along well through those shared interests.

Once you confirm your booking on a tour, you will be sent further practical information - packing tips, detailed itineraries, advice on health, passport, visa requirements, the minimum and the maximum number of guests on tours.

We wish you to experience the cultural and natural surroundings in style and comfort. Hotels, lodges, and Camps are researched personally, with an emphasis on character, location, and service quality. We offer a window for our clients to discuss their preferences and, if needed, change their accommodation before their safari begins.

Memorable meals are a hallmark of an excellent holiday. With the support of the best cooks, the quality of food and drink service is guaranteed. Depending on the service level or tour type you have chosen, a pre-discussion with your tour planner is a win-win for an enjoyable trip. Other tours are accompanied by our cook, and others are inclusive service from our accommodation partners, including hotels, private camps, and luxury lodges

Confidentiality is one of our core pillars; we comply with the GDPR and use your personal information solely to process your booking. This may include sharing some of the information with our suppliers. We do not sell your Personal Data to any third party. If you would like to receive regular updates by email or by post, please join our mailing list here. Please get in touch with us at any time if you would like to be removed from the mailing list.

Note – the migration is a natural event, and the timing varies month by month, year by year. Fortunately, it won’t happen in one day; it takes time to complete. We update most of our clients once the migration begins, so if your primary goal is to witness the migration, please contact us in advance so we can do our best to accommodate you.

Please note that most travelers do not see the wildebeest crossing in the Mara, as the timing and duration vary widely each year. The best probable months are July, August, and September. Read more about the wildebeest migration

Why not? We offer private tours for individuals, families, and groups. Whether you're celebrating a special anniversary or planning a family reunion, we can discuss your needs. We can create a bespoke itinerary away from traffic, with travel in style, tailored to your requirements.

The answer is an absolute yes! The areas where safaris are organized are safe and free of political chaos. We conduct safaris in politically stable regions to ensure our clients’ safety and enjoyment.
